I had wondered what happened to the new Daleks.

I had wondered what happened to the new Daleks. You see a hint of them in Asylum of the Daleks but every other episode seems to have the smaller older style. This article provides an explanation, one also suggested in http://www.doctorwhotv.co.uk/what-happened-to-the-dalek-paradigm-76292.htm.

And yes, it's only a show, but it's still interesting to speculate. I think perhaps the New Paradigm versions have been used more in the Audio stories that are still being made.
