And some of it's done with mirrors

And some of it's done with mirrors
And some of it's done with scissors
And some of it's done with cables
And his hands under the table
It doesn't matter you want to believe
It doesn't matter if you have to leave
You won't escape his orbit
And the things that you must forfeit

Well look at you

Well look at you,
Hands full of money you always wanted to have
Saying sweet life is a downright drag
Down to the very last seed in the bag
As if it's never gonna end

Ed Greenwood seems to be quite good at writing Forgotten Realms stories.

Ed Greenwood seems to be quite good at writing Forgotten Realms stories. Sadly, when it comes to steampunk he's more of an Ed Wood.

I have to agree on this. I think the author was aiming at "whimsical" but sadly hit overwritten and overloaded with superfluous characters. Who's the main character? Certainly NOT the title one.

I have 50 pages left to read and I'm debating if I should, or return the library copy of this I have on loan. Of course I might be doing an injustice here. This might be part of a series, but I hope not.

Little specks of sand

So, earlier today the NUC with the grid reset itself. I discovered that this was due to a Windows Upgrade setting (which I've now corrected). However, I was working in the grid when that happened and lost all the walls in this deck, plus anything that was linked to them (like some of the flooring)!

Couldn't find this in either the trash, or Lost and Found, so I've just spent some time rebuilding the walls and doors. Not finished this yet, but one thing that will come out of this is that all the heights will match! GAH.

The book acts as a mix of holiday dairy and tour guide.

The book acts as a mix of holiday dairy and tour guide. In actual fact it carried on the trend of the time of taking well known fantasy and science fiction artists and then subtly manipulating them to follow the storyline. In several images you can see where they have been edited in to the exiting artwork. The idea is fun with a mixed level of success.

When I was pruning my book collection I came across my copy of this, which I probably haven't read for at least 15 years.. Have been reading it a bit at a time outside in the shade. Good fun!
