Just watched this on TV. Interesting, odd and sad. all at the same time. The strange reactions of shock to Curtis's death, and the almost "accidental" way the band became successful. I've seen a biog pic about Ian Curti's life and it scared the shit out of me because I have a history of epilepsy as well, and was only a few years younger in that period.

Probably a cliche, but sometimes great art comes with a price.

After I saw Wicked live in Sydney a few years back, I played the soundtrack (which I'd bought in the intermission) EVERY DAY for over six months - until one day I woke up hearing the songs in my head. The musical MOVED me (like it did many others) and just then I needed to be reminded of certain things. I realised just now I haven't listen to the sound track in six months.

Sometimes it's "not easy being green", but sometimes I'd never be any other way.

Came across an interesting fact today. There's been film adaptations of comics almost as soon as there were films! There was a film about Ally Sloper in 1896. Ally (seen below in the rediculous top hat) was one of the prototypical comic characters from the 19th century (see http://comicbookplus.com/?cid=2048).  Whoohoo.
