Have been fiddling around with Boozer's Pub, which was originally a Linda Kellie's Grand Hotel. Apart from putting an extra outside staircase in, I added an actual 2nd floor! Believe it or not, the original had a spectacular staircase which led up to the 3rd floor, but there was no actual 2nd floor - despite the fact there was an outside 2nd floor verandah! In fact there was all sorts of inaccessible spaces, which have now been stripped out and maybe replaced with cheap rents and a back room. .

I'm thinking of converting the 2nd floor back verandah - which faces a brick wall, into an extension for the 2nd floor rooms. Makes sense to me.

I'm not sure how many of these are accurate, but #40 explains a lot about the NEMESIS film!

While I was waiting for work on a replacement fence in real life, I did a bit of development in the Seconds Grid on Octobriana's flat. Mostly it was a reworking of the water catchment system. The fresh water tanks are now at the bottom of the flat, with piping down from the main catchment surface. That doubles up as cover for the sun deck (and BBQ area) and the deck above is now free for deckchairs instead of being a maintenance point. There's a catchment funnel and filter at one end.

I'm so glad I saw the Gene Kelly film on the BIG SCREEN yesterday.

I'm so glad I saw the Gene Kelly film on the BIG SCREEN yesterday.

The spectacular extended dance scene before the end was quite impressive, being set in fin de siècle artwork version of Paris (which matches the main character being a struggling artist). There are effects which were obviously designed for the stage, but really work well in the film, like the drawn background suddenly becoming coloured.

I can't remember actually seeing the film on TV, though it's clearly the sort of thing to shown on Saturday afternoon TV. The main sets are clearly sets, but that fits in with the films of the period, like REAR WINDOW, PLAY TIME, and THE LADIES MAN.

I finished revamping the Teleport Hub and added an extra internal teleport.

I finished revamping the Teleport Hub and added an extra internal teleport.

There was no sensible reason to have a spiral ramp on the Hub, so Disposes of that and added extra ports to each level: SECONDS, HYPERGRID, DREAMGRIS, and PLATFORM. Also, it seems that when someone first visits the grid they appear at the bottom left corner of the region underwater. I've added an extra teleport rug there, just in case!

I did some work on Octobriana's flat.

I did some work on Octobriana's flat. Well actually it's Octobriana's and Amazonia's (her step sister). We haven't seen Amazonia in the comic yet, but she's based on the character that Octobriana was "stolen from" (it's a twisted tale). In any case she was left a behest by a wealthy client (she's a courtesan similar to Inara Serra in Firefly) and had the apartments redone.

So yes, now it's a 5 level monstrosity, but self contained with water catchments and waste recycling, and solar cells (not seen yet). Octo's and Amazonia's apartments are separated/joined by a garage/laundry/storage area, but now the sewerage, catchment and lift head (where the winch/motor for the lift sits) are now all accessible. If for some reason the power goes off or the lift fairs, they can get to other levels by a set of tedious stairs.

Yes it's a lot, but this will make a much better set to shoot stories in.

If I was more technical, I could probably find the answers to these, in OpenSimulator.

Is it possible to set a global water level that would be the default for new regions, and also for non-regions surrounding existing regions?

Where are the definitions for new regions (flat, island, et cetera) stored , and is it possible to add your own default regions?

Can you replace images and illumination for the sun and the moon, including no sun or moon (i.e. transparent)?

Is it possible a custom "starscape" - a sky which only shows a custom set of stars and space in all directions?

No doubt there are workarounds for all of these, but how much easier if it can be done using techniques that can be easily replicated and customised. For example, suppose I wanted a series of regions set on an alien moon. The sun might look radically different and the moon might actually be a gas giant.

Just wondering.

This is my finished contribution for Jenny Everywhere Day 2018. And yes, there's a bit of a story.

Jenny Everywhere (seated left) and Jenny Anywhere (standing right) bumped into Raymond Reddington (seated middle) who was just about play a game of high stakes poker with his some-time associate Morland Holmes (seated right, and father of Sherlock Holmes). Jenny E wanted to join in, and they went to a casino run by Tony Soprano (standing left). Tony knew both Reddington and Holmes from "mutual friends" and knew better than play either at cards, but put his best dealer on the table hoping to lose the minimum.

So what are Raymond and Morland up to? Will the FBI kick in the door taking names and cuffing those they can? Or has Morland upset the Cabal once too often, and this is the safest place to hang out? Who knows? Certainly Jenny E is intrigued, though Jenny A seems bored just now.
