I decided I didn't want to do the Win10 install today - I think I was rushing it.

I decided I didn't want to do the Win10 install today - I think I was rushing it. So I went hunting and pecking for sources to recreate a set in second life. That was a rezzable location called Slum City. Octobriana and her sister Amazonia (there's an historical reference in that name if you know the characters real world history) live in a flat above this, which for story purposes is part of Urbania alterverse.

Everything in this was created using Arcadia Asylum builds, and I've actually found 90% of that elsewhere, thanks to a Google+ community, the archives at Outworldz, and running around the Hypergrid. But it's been a long process and some of it I had top fudge or guess. Lots of reconstruction with no scripts, and missing some textures, but it looks like the SL original, as much as it needs to for the story. This is important, because the next story starts here.

Saw this film yesterday. To be honest, what attracted me was the dog in the movie poster, but he only appears in five scenes, and unlike what the poster implies, doesn't belong to these people. The film doesn't exactly match the description above (taken from the Event Cinemas website) but it was so much better, and I found the film really really funny.

Frankly, I think the term "creativity" is commonly abused as a be-all panacea.

Frankly, I think the term "creativity" is commonly abused as a be-all panacea. My experience has been that creativity is NOT the same as play, but when you get both together it can be really beneficial.

I mean, I was "creative" yesterday in using a bike tool to screw in a hex screw when I couldn't find the right attachment, but it was still stressful and a work-around. How much simpler if I had the right attachment. Creativity takes EFFORT, and is a bit like a muscle - the more you are or attempt to be creative the easier it might seem - but that's because like a muscle you got used to the effort.

But also, creativity doesn't always flow evenly in to every endeavour. It's not a general all purpose store of ideas. I can be as creative as I can be with cars (and when I had my station wagon I was forced to be, like using a wet towel to seal a burst air filter) but it only gets me so far.

I'm reaching the end of GANKUTSUOU, and it's be a thoroughly enjoyable series. Thinking about what I might watch to replace it, I might consider some of these. This is a really good list of possible space opera anime.

I've already seen Voices of a Distant Star, Planetes, and Outlaw Star, (and Space Battleship Yamato on first broadcast in the last century) but the others look really interesting. I'm also currently watching GANTZ, which is way more bloodthirsty than the two live action films I've seen, and I fast forward through the opening theme, which is the most grating one I've heard.
