Finally, a whole Tangerine Dream Album.

Like Bowie, I used to listen to albums like this one doing my fan and game zines in the 70s and 80s. I was introduced to this (as background music) at a party held by the Thorpes in Kalamunda a week after seeing ALIEN in the cinema. I thought of this music when I rode my bicycle down the zig-zag at 2am.

We may want any number of things but not consider them seriously. We may want an ice cream, for the dog to stop barking, world peace, to be financially secure, to get away from it all, to show it off, to get laid, to be fed, to go to the toilet, and so on. But we'll only act on some of these, if any, at all. There's another want coming round the corner all the time. "What do I want to do with my life?" though implies that "one great thing", a singular means by which our lives will be measured and judged (if only by ourselves).

"What do I desire?" is different. Desires are stronger than wants in that desires involve PASSION. Desires can be fulfilled, provided you pay the price. And that might be money, time, effort, dedication, commitment, or a mindfulness and attitude that leads you to it. Or not. Not every desire gets fulfilled either because you couldn't or didn't pay the price for it. So Watt's question is important in revealing desires, but you need to follow through to make them happen.

Well, saw the film.

Well, saw the film. It had a 10 minute short before it which showed how obsessive Mofatt and Gatiss are with details, and a 20 minute special afterwards about the making of. Thoroughly enjoyed it, but it if you haven't seen the BBC series you probably wouldn't. Impossible to talk about it otherwise without some spoilers.
