I watched this 150 minute film on DVD last night. I enjoyed it thoroughly, though many might not. Turner seems more like a "force of nature" in it than like other humans, and the strange controversies of the Academy are depicted in all its glory - RED DOT indeed!

This is the silliest episode so far of my re-watching of TIME TUNNEL. They end up (via a space shipped ripped from DESTINATION MOON) on the airless moon, and have noisy gun and fist fights at a supply dump. Then, they refuel the very large spaceship using maybe a dozen scuba tank containers of propellant!

.nfo files were early information files for DOS, often included with software archives and used to describe the contents. I can remember bicycling to WAIT (now Curtain University) with a pack of 5.25" floppies and browsing through the archives they had there for useful programs.

Of course the thing about NFO (and DIZ) files was that they were all text, using ASCII values. Because the IBM and IBM Clone PCs had an extended ASII set, you could include special characters which might have symbols, tones, or single/double borders. You can see some of these in this example.

I listened to some of this in the early hours of this morning. I absolutely loved "Constellation 2". The I went back to sleep and dreamed a strange extended dream about a McGyver convention where the actual character himself (not the actor) was attending. I woke up to the last 30 minutes of this as well and as the rhythm softly faded out I though of Xena, gently drifting off off from life, and shed some tears.
