I hadn't bothered watching this when it was first broadcast because the timeslots changed around so it was difficult...

I hadn't bothered watching this when it was first broadcast because the timeslots changed around so it was difficult to follow a storyline. Also, it looked like an imitation of SHERLOCK HOLMES: ELEMENTARY (strange Brit helps local American woman to solve bizarre crimes). And also, it was clearly a "flashback show" in which you knew damn well there'd be extensive flashback to his previous decades.

And then the DVD set of the series (22 eps) turned up in the local library, so I borrowed it and have been watching 1-2 episodes a day. Better than expected, and I am enjoying the bizarre cases. Also I rather like Ioan Gruffudd and watched the whole HORNBLOWER series purely for him. If there's one criticism I can make on this series, it, like a lot of USA series, suffers from having only two "British" accents, STANDARD ENGLISH (like Higgins from Magnum PI) and EXTRA POSH (imagine all the Australian TV announcers from the 60s). Oh well. We'll see how they wrap up the only season soon enough.

I finished watching RIGEL II today.

I finished watching RIGEL II today. I'd forgotten how much the second series had medical hi jinks in it, more so than supernatural elements. The DG just can't win a trick!

It's a pity I can't find an outline of what the aborted third seines would have been like. It was planned, but too major major actors died after II. I read somewhere that RIGEL was inspired by BABELS HUS. Now I found this trailer online, and somehow it looks really familiar. Maybe SBS broadcasted it some time. It's just, that guy, the hospital, I KNOW this!
