One of the good things about a virtual world is that you can create sites and memorials that can commemorate real life events and issues, and people can visit those from anywhere. This is the
Transgender Hate Crime and Suicide Memorial. It was first created back in 2008 (when I first visited it), and has been located at different places over the years. It's also been absent - so I believe - from Second Life for the last two years, so seeing this once inworld is heartening.
