Have been fiddling around with Boozer's Pub, which was originally a Linda Kellie's Grand Hotel. Apart from putting an extra outside staircase in, I added an actual 2nd floor! Believe it or not, the original had a spectacular staircase which led up to the 3rd floor, but there was no actual 2nd floor - despite the fact there was an outside 2nd floor verandah! In fact there was all sorts of inaccessible spaces, which have now been stripped out and maybe replaced with cheap rents and a back room. .

I'm thinking of converting the 2nd floor back verandah - which faces a brick wall, into an extension for the 2nd floor rooms. Makes sense to me.
