Logged into Opensim and decided to visit a few regions and maybe take a few pictures. Once I landed on the Roman by Satyr Aeon I knew I was about to lose about an hour or so. I took so many pictures I only include some of the pictures I took whilst I was there. I also won a chariot race against myself, yay me.

This region is huge and and I will definitely be back to explore more. Keep an eye out for the vehicle rezzers as you wonder around.

I got to muck about building a revised "Beta Base".

I got to muck about building a revised "Beta Base". The new one is roughly the same volume, but has improved OH&S features, like NOT having a runway go through the ops deck (much better on the roof) and the runway elevator only going down into the garage - putting it in the middle of the warehouse wasted space and increased the risk of someone falling over the raining.

The control tower goes over the external goods lift and the platforms on either side of the runway will have a mixture of solar panels and sheds.

They'd made lots of changes to the plot of A Princess of Mars, but John Carter, Deja Thoris, and Barsoom seemed more or less right. It's a pity it bombed at the box office, because with the Therns story line unresolved, there was a good chance that we'd get versions of The Gods of Mars and The Warlord of Mars.

I discovered that this is on SBS by DEMAND. I haven't seen the film for ages. It used to get shown at SF film festivals in Arthouse cinemas. It adapts three stories from Bradbury's book (and has an extended back story) . There's something "odd" about this film, which has an all pervading intensity, which both telegraphs and heightens the punchlines of each segment.

Well, I got NO MAN'S SKY downloaded (after 6 hours!) and installed it.

Well, I got NO MAN'S SKY downloaded (after 6 hours!) and installed it. Got it running thought the initialisation screen was terribly terribly long. But it runs! Visually it's very nice, and the the background soundtract is soothing. I suspect I now need to go off and read/play some tutorials before I know what I'm doing.

I decided to catch the later bius to see the film.

I decided to catch the later bius to see the film. Two more shots from Newton's monument - which I had only ever seen as architectual plans before).

So far Sansar reminds me a lot of worlds like Kaneva, Twinity, and Exit Reality, except much smoother than any of these. Movement is by either walking, or more likely line-of-sight teleporting. No flying as yet, and so far nothing particularly interactive either. Locations/experiences have to load before you can experience them, and the time it takes to load depends on the world and your bandwidth speed. One - Harvest 114 - bombed out before loading, and I'm currently waiting on Valencia to load. I'm using a desktop to access Sansar and so far the worlds look like clever paper cutouts arranged in 3D dioramas. That's not a bad thing, and the music/environment sounds are excellent!

I think I'm going to enjoy exploring Sansar, overall.

In the comics she seems to swing from a bob, female mullet, to a buzz-cut (if I've got the terms correct). But frankly how much importance is the hair style? I suspect it's not was this character was known for in the comics.And also, DEADPOOL is hardly known for it's "gritty realism".
